What we collect from you

When you fill in the draft request form we collect your name, business name, mobile number, email address if you give it, and what you tell us about your business. If you go ahead, we also collect what we need to build and host your site: your logo, photos, text, domain details, and the billing details needed to charge the monthly plan.

Giving this information is voluntary, but without a name, a way to contact you and a description of your business we can't build a draft or reply.

Why we collect it

To build your homepage draft and reply to you about it. If you go ahead, to build and host your site, keep it running, make the changes you ask for, and invoice you. We don't use your details for anything else, and we don't sell or share them for marketing.

Who sees it

Josh and Bronwyn. Form submissions are processed and stored by Netlify, which hosts this site. Card payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your full card number. Your domain is registered with a New Zealand registrar in your name. Each of those providers has its own privacy policy.

Your customers' information

The enquiry form on your website sends your customers' details to you. We can see those submissions in the hosting dashboard for the purpose of keeping the form working, and we delete them from our side after 30 days. You are responsible for how you handle them after that. Every site we build includes a privacy statement for your customers.

Cookies

This site sets no tracking or analytics cookies. If that changes we'll say so here first.

How long we keep it

If you don't go ahead after a draft, we delete your details and the draft within 90 days. If you become a client, we keep your details for as long as we host your site and for seven years after for tax records.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. Email hello@jbdesigns.co.nz. If you're not happy with how we've handled it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
