Every change to your site is saved as a new version and the old ones are kept. Anything can be undone in minutes. And with no WordPress, there's no weekly patching to fall behind on.

The site files live in version control, the same system software companies use for their code. Every time we publish a change it's a snapshot. If a photo swap goes wrong or you want last month's wording back, we put it back. Form submissions are logged separately, so an enquiry never goes missing.

On updates: a typical WordPress site has twenty plugins that all want updating, and one out-of-date plugin is how most small business sites get broken into. Ours have none. The bits that do need updating, the hosting platform and the certificate, are done by the host automatically.

It isn't that we're clever about security. It's that plain pages with no login and no database give a bot nothing to attack.
