The build
The five pages.
Every site we build has the same five pages. Not because we're lazy. After enough small business sites you work out those are the five that get you rung.
What's on each one.
Home
What you do, where, and a big button to ring you. Your three best photos and your Google rating if you've got one. Most people decide on this page in a few seconds, so it doesn't muck about.
Services
Each thing you do, in your words. This is the page Google matches when someone types "hot water cylinder Rolleston". We write it from what you tell us on the phone.
About
You. How long you've been at it, where you work, what you're like to deal with. Put a real photo of yourself here. People hire people.
Gallery
Your work. Phone photos are fine, honestly. We sort out the cropping.

What we leave off.
- A blog. You won't update it, and a news page dated 2024 looks worse than no news page.
- A testimonials page full of quotes nobody can check. Your real Google reviews go on the home page instead, once you've got some.
- A price list, unless you actually charge fixed prices. Most trades don't.
- Pop-ups, chat bubbles, cookie banners. They slow the site down and get in the way of the person trying to ring you.
Questions.
- What if I need another page?
- $99 a page, and we'll tell you the price in writing before we start. A second branch or a page for one particular service, fair enough. A "meet the team" page when the team is you, probably not.
- Can I swap one of the five?
- Yep. A café swaps Services for Menu. A shop swaps Gallery for Products. It's still five because five is what a busy person can keep accurate.
- Can I write it myself?
- You can and we'll tidy it up. Most people would rather talk for ten minutes. Here's how that works.
