The point of the site is your phone ringing. So your number's at the top of every page, and the form is short enough to fill in one-handed in a car park.
The number is a real phone link, not a picture of a number. On a mobile you tap it and the dialler opens. On a desktop it's big enough to read from across the room.
The form asks for a name, a phone number, a suburb and what they need. That's it. No CAPTCHA puzzles with traffic lights. A hidden trap catches the bots instead. When someone sends it you get an email straight away, and a text as well if you'd rather. Every submission is also kept in the site's own log, so if an email ever bounces nothing's lost.
Before it goes live we check:
- A real submission from a phone lands where you said it should.
- The tap-to-call dials the right number, including for someone ringing from an Aussie number.
- The thank-you page comes up and the form clears.
- And we check all of it again every month.
Questions.
- Can people send a photo of the job?
- Yes. Handy for plumbers, tilers and mechanics. Say the word and we add it.
- Will I get spam?
- A bit, eventually. Every form on the internet does. The trap stops most of it, and if it gets annoying we tighten it up as part of the plan.
- Can it go to two people?
- Yes. You and whoever does the bookings. Give us both addresses.
